Reseting user or Administrator password on Windows 9x/2000/XP/Vista

How to reset the Windows administrator´s password ?

An interesting tool, developed over Linux, that allows resetting  users passwords on Linux and Windows operational systems. It also alows changing  some parameters, like unlocking  accounts, setting  ”never expires”, and others.
This tool is very helpful for system administrators, service desk operators and everybody else who sometimes has faces a computer whose owner (or user) has lost the administrator password.
Download the CD image, by clicking here, and burn it into a CD;
Insert the created CD in the CD drive of the computer which has the user and password to be reset
Turn on (or reboot) the computer;
A screen like this will be shown.
Press ENTER to start the password reset proccess:
Step 1: SELECT THE HARD DISK which has the operational system installed. Normally, a computer has only one hard disk, if it is your case, just press enter, otherwise you must select a number that represents the disk.
Step 2:SELECT THE PATH TO THE SYSTEM FILES.
If the computer has a standard installation, the system will show you the correct path. Press enter;
Step 3: REGISTER OR PASSWORD EDITION.
Just press ENTER (the standard option is EDIT USER DATA AND PASSWORD);
Now, you´ll be asked about the user you´re willing to reset the password.
A list of the available users will be shown.
The standard user is the “Administrator”, just press enter to reset its password (If you want to reset another´s user password, you must  type the username and press enter).
Sometimes, the account you choose  may be locked, in this case, the system will ask if you want to unlock it and set never expires to the account. Do it.
Now, you have two options: Type only * and press enter to a blank password (this is the recommended option) or type the new password and press enter;
The system will ask if you want to confirm the action: Type y and press enter;
After changing all the accounts you want, type ! (to leave the edition mode) .
Type q and press enter to finish the operation.
STEP 4: SAVING CHANGES.
At last, the system will ask you for a confirmation, type y and press enter.
Type n and press enter to end the process, remove the CD and restart the computer;
After restarting the system, the user and its new password should be ready for using.
